Sanexen is seeking a Chemistry Technician for its offices and laboratories in Varennes.
Job Description
The Analytical Chemistry Technician actively participates in the quality control of mineral oils throughout the decontamination and regeneration processes. They ensure the compliance of analyses, adherence to quality standards, and rigorous monitoring of the various stages of treatment.
Main responsibilities
- Perform quality control of processes and complete the associated documentation;
- Keep records of incoming and outgoing oil quality up to date;
- Maintain records related to the management of tanks, waste, and hazardous materials;
- Carry out oil sampling and perform laboratory analyses (manual injection gas chromatography, interfacial tension, water content, acidity, dielectric strength, etc.);
- Assist operators with certain physical tasks, including replacing filter media;
- Identify potential non-conformities and report them to the supervisor;
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in accordance with current procedures;
- Ensure work is carried out safely in compliance with the health and safety plan established by Sanexen.
Qualifications required
Sought Profile
- Hold relevant technical training in analytical chemistry, chemical processes, or a related field;
- Have a good command of the Microsoft Office suite;
- Be available for occasional travel outside the province (less than 10% of the time);
- Availability primarily during daytime hours, Monday to Friday, but may be required to work evening and weekend shifts.
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license;
- Demonstrate rigor, autonomy, and strong teamwork skills.
Assets
- Experience in chemistry, environmental work, or a related field;
- Forklift operation training;
- WHMIS, TDG, or any other health and safety certification;
- Interest and aptitude in mechanics.
